Summary: Junk Mixer 2008-11-22
Comment: In the 10 months that I used the Mix and Blend mixer for kneading bread dough I had two failures of the machine. The first was when the outer case separated at one of the corners near an incompletely cleaned plastic locking clip. I was able to repair that with a small screw to the outside of the case. The second failure was catastrophic resulting in the total destruction of the flimsy plastic gear case. The failures occurred after letting the dough autolyse (rest for 15 minutes) in the bowl. Upon restarting the machine the removable drive shaft "safty link" failed to shear as designed (both times) and "prevent serious gear or motor damage" as clearly stated in the owners manual. Because I made the first small repair myself the factory refused to honor the 2 year warranty. They told me it could be repaired for $95 or they could dispose of it for me if I wished. I took the second option. In my opinion these units would be overpriced at Walmarts at $129.95, because thats more than they're worth. The Champ video shows the blender grinding rocks but it apparently has trouble kneading dough. So my advice is if you want to grind rocks get this machine. On the other hand if you need a machine to make bread and want to deal with a company that stands behind its products save yourself some money and look elsewhere.

Summary: Great product 2008-09-29
Comment: We've had the Mix-n-blend II for over a year and it has worked well. We blend smoothies and mix whole wheat bread dough with it and it handles both tasks with ease. It is starting to have a slight rubbing sound on the mixer side and we're going to contact the company to find out if that's normal or not but other than that it's been a good blender/mixer.

Summary: Mix and blend machine for wheat bread is a problem 2008-07-23
Comment: I purchased the Mix and Blend machine by K-tec over two years ago. I have had at least five if not six replacement machines. I grind my own wheat and bought the machine originally to mix my wheat dough, but the machines keep breaking. K-tec has been very good about replacing the motor bases, but in the end I had to purchase a more expensive dough maker from another company to solve my problem. Basically, I wasted over $300. Don't buy this machine if you think that you want to mix up wheat dough. It just does not hold up. The vital parts are plastic.
