Warm Up My Winter!,

This review is from: Breville SG620XL 2-in-1 Panini Press (Kitchen)
My dad calls me the toasted sandwich queen as this is the fifth sandwich/panini press I've owned. It is by far the best! Not only does the Breville have a floating hinge so you can do everything from big fat sandwiches to the thinnest quesadillas , it also has a sliding mechanism on the side that lets you control the height of the top plate. No more mess in the toaster oven to make open melts and the bread is so much crispier and more mouth-watering! Re-heated pizza comes out crisp, fresh and delicious and the totally flat plates mean really, REALLY, easy cleaning and lots of cool applications. Best of all it looks amazing on the kitchen counter. I looked in a few stores before I bought this at Amazon and it is way more attractive (and featured!) than the Krups and Villaware units and at the same price! My best buy for a long time... thank you Amazon!

Smarter, Cleaner, Better!,

I've been in the U.S. for a year now and am originally from Australia where the slang word for a Panini is a 'Breville.' I'm so glad I found the Breville unit here in the States as it is the only one I could find that has an adjustable toast height control. This is an amazing feature as it means you can set the height of the top plate to make open melts, to re-heat pizza or even fry eggs over-easy WITHOUT FLIPPING! It has five different settings and I am loving all the different cheese on toast varieties this allows me to do.I bought a Krups unit when I first got here and it was okay but the ribbed plates don't allow you to make thinner sandwiches using tortillas and quesadilla breads as the grooves make holes in the bread and the ingredients leak all over the place. The flat plates on the Breville still make perfectly crisp Paninis, but allow me to do a lot more things too. AND BEST OF ALL - it makes it soooooo much easier to clean. You can really tell the difference.

Great sandwich press; no shipping problems,

I placed my order for this with some trepidation after reading a number of posts about shipping problems, and I was not familiar with the brand. It arrived securely packaged in the manufacturer's box which was snugly packed again in Amazon cardboard. So no problems there. It is a great sandwich press. I love the hinged top plate and the settings that allow you to heat food without touching the top surface (like reheating pizza and melts).I like the way it stores standing up so it takes up almost no counter space. I expect to use this a lot.I still don't know the brand, but it is made in China like everything else today, so I guess it doesn't make any difference.
