Summary: Great Starter 2010-06-03
Comment: I was given this juicer recently, and its performance exceeded my expectations! Yes, the juicer is a little challenging to put together and take apart for the first time, but I didn't have to refer to the manual (although it would likely have been much easier if I had!). I did not have to use brute force or screwdrivers to get the thing apart, either. However, it would be easy to break IF you push the handle all the way up without pushing down the release button on the top first, OR if you try to shove the pulp container into its compartment after everything else is put together. That said, it only took me one time to figure it out, and now I can assemble and disassemble it in less than a minute.
As for the quality of the juice, it is phenomenal, provided you are not juicing a ton at once. If you are a hard core juicer and juice many items, this machine is not for you. I would recommend the Green Star machine instead. I only juice for my two year old and myself and occasionally my husband, and I keep our juices fairly simple. I have not yet attempted to juice more than five items at once, but when I do, I will update this review. However, I was highly impressed with how dry the pulp was. It was not dripping, and I could not squeeze any extra juice out. It was wet but not greatly so. I saved the pulp from my apple/orange/carrot juice and made apple/orange/carrot cake, and I should have ADDED liquid to the recipe because the pulp was not nearly as wet as the recipe anticipated. As for quantity of juice, when I juiced one carrot, half an apple, and half an orange, I got about 8-10 ounces. I was impressed. Oh, and neither the juice nor the pulp splashed. And it was fast! One hardly needs to push the produce as the Juiceman just tears through it!
As for cleanup, we do not have a dishwasher so I cannot speak to how well the components are cleaned by a dishwasher, but they are not hard to wash. The manual recommended soaking all of the plastic parts (except for the base) in half a box of baking soda and sufficient water overnight after juicing orangey fruits and veggies, but I dumped a couple tablespoons of baking soda in my dishwater along with my usual biodegradable detergent, and the parts were a breeze to clean. NO orangey tint at all! I think it took me less than ten minutes to clean the whole thing, including the blade and sieve.
I was also expecting something with 700 watts to be louder, but it is fairly quiet when compared to my Bosch blender and Cuisinart food processor.
Overall, I am very, very pleased. I will update this review after I attempt a green juice in the next couple days, but I would recommend this for individuals or couples who juice occasionally or only a handful of items regularly. Families might be frustrated by its smaller size and therefore smaller yield, but it's fast, efficient, and easy!

Summary: first time juicer 2010-04-01
Comment: I wanted a juicer in order to give my husband (who has AD) the benefits of various fruits. We had never done the juicer (other than oj) before so I did not want to spend a lot of money but still wanted a name brand. The juicer works pretty well but I would like to have less pulp as most of the pulp is still wet which tells me I am not getting all of the juice. The parts are not that easy to remove so it takes a little patience. Also, I found that pealing apples, pears and oranges works best. I remove the seeds as well so they don't accidentally get into the drink (which I found out by not doing this).
I would recommend this product to first time juicers to see if it is indeed something they will enjoy and benefit from without too much expense. The machine seems pretty sturdy (but noisy). One thing I don't like is that you put the fruit in after you turn it on so if you are too slow putting in the pusher, fruit can go everywhere. You will have to get a knack to how to put the fruit into the machine.
Comment: I have had this juicer for about 2 months and I couldn't be happier with it. It has a super powerful motor, it juices EVERYTHING, and just really works. I love it!

Summary: Excellent First Juicer with minor cons 2009-11-25
Comment: I just bought this juicer yesterday. But I have used it about 5x times in two days. I got it for 45$ on clearanceJuiceman JM300 Juiceman Jr 2-Speed Juicer at Sears and I have to say, so far I love it. For $45 I have NO complaints, but had I paid market price of $62.99, I wouldnt be so easy going with this product. So overall its great, but the down side is I dont get as much juice as I had hoped from all fruits and veggies. Most do well but Pears for instance are a waste. Pears seem to puree and you get pear sauce, not juice. Most of the pear ends up in the pulp bucket and some puree drips into the cup. The chute isnt big enough to put whole fruits down, even though its made for it. Small apples and oranges are too big, usually just barely fitting, so you have to cut them in half. The pros are the COST, for sure, and cleaning takes minutes, with the most time spent on the fruit basket. But what is nice, is it comes with a brush that works perfectly for cleaning every piece. Its simple to assemble, and disassemble. I only need to rinse everything with hot/warm water, havent needed to use soap yet. Its not too loud, tolerable for the morning. The catch cup comes with a solid plastic screen that helps to keep the foam from coming out when you pour your delicious juice into a cup.
I found that putting the juicier, softer fruits first followed by the harder ones works best. The harder ones such as apples, cause the most clogs in the screen with their skins. Cucumber works great, beets worked well, celery and carrots all great. The only thing im really disappointed by are pears. Pomegranate worked nice too, but only the seeds I didnt do the whole thing. you have to keep in mind that you will juice whatever you put in their, so dont juice rinds and skins you dont want to taste. Orange rinds are bitter, and pomegranate pith not so good.
Overall I say if you can get this for less than market price, its worth the buy, but if you have the money to spend on something over $70 dollars than try something better. But i recommend comparing products at the store before you buy. Look for something with a bigger fruit basket for a centrifugal juicer, and a larger chute if you decide to not go with this one.
