Raw food vegan diets are becoming all the rage among those seeking a healthy, fat-free lifestyle. What better way to vary how you take in those fruits and veggies than with an in-home juice extractor? Krups' XL model offers 300 watts of professional strength, living up to the qualities that you'll find on an industrial juicer in a health food store. Food goes in through the top of the juice extractor as you apply light pressure on it with an ergonomically designed plastic pusher. For juicing small fruits, such as berries or grapes, the lid on the XL turns inside out to create a small feeding dish for easier loading. The unit operates quietly and vibrations are kept to a minimum with the stainless-steel locking mechanism that keeps all components of the juice extractor contained. The filter and pump ejection system on this extractor are specially designed to continuously feed a wide variety of fruits and vegetables through without mixing their flavors. The large 45-ounce pulp container holds large quantities of pulp and is easy to remove and discard the unusable portions of fresh veggies. Juice pours from the opposite end of the extractor into the included plastic receptacle or the glass of your choice. Summary: Poor quality 2003-10-08
Comment: Beware this juicer. When I received mine the motor worked for about 30 seconds, and then ... nothing. When I looked into having it repaired, the nearest service facility was about 45 minutes from where I live. I ended up returning it to Amazon (not a hassle, they even link you to a UPS pre-paid return label), but I wasn't credited until Amazon had it for a week. By that time, my credit card bill had come due so I had to pay for it, although I now have a negative balance.Once again, beware ...
