Product Description
Simple to operate and easy to clean, this Orange X mechanical device quickly and easily presses juice from all citrus fruits. It's made of enameled iron so it's heavy and stable and has suction feet for further insurance against sliding during use. A three-step process--lifting the handle, placing half a fruit on the conical strainer, pulling the lever--is all that's needed to produce a flow of juice into a container on the cup rest beneath the juicer's head. The strainer and basket are made of 18/10 stainless steel. Like the plastic cup rest and the cone that presses against the top of a fruit, the strainer and basket remove with a twist and are dishwasher-safe. The housing wipes clean with a damp cloth. Shapely and compact, the juicer measures 10 inches high, 8 inches wide (including the handle with its rubber grip), and 11 inches deep (including the handle). It carries a lifetime warranty against defects. Lifetime warranty against defects Quickly, easily presses juice from all citrus fruits Simple to operate, easy to clean Dishwasher-safe removable parts Heavy, stable: made of enameled iron, with suction feet

Summary: it's a great juicer; works as described; easy to clean 2008-10-04
Comment: My positive opinion seems to be a somewhat solitary position. I like this juicer.
I disagree that it's difficult to clean; you twist off all components, rince with water, and twist back on. Take a sponge, swoop from left to right. It's not deep cleaning, but it does the job. It takes seconds.
The juicer is unstable if one just pulls the handle, but that would happen unless the weight was unreasonably heavy or if there was a clamp. Just put a hand on the top of the juicer and press down as the other hand pulls down the handle. No problem...unless you're particularly short or have very poor upper-body strength.
It's handled grapefruits and small and large oranges and limes, etc. Size of the fruit has not been an issue.
I think expectations may be too high for a manual juicer. What else do you want it to do? I think it works really well for what it's supposed to do, it looks good, it cleans up easily, it's user friendly, and Amazon has it at a great price.

Summary: very satisfied 2008-06-19
Comment: I've had this juicer for many years. It sits on my counter and I use it daily. I've not had any problems with the suction cups slipping nor any difficulty extracting juice. The handle operates with ease and it is easy to clean. I was very surprised to see all the negative reviews in light of my experience/satisfaction.

Summary: Suckered... 2007-12-26
Comment: My Sister and I bought this juicer from a store in town. It was adorable, seemed sturdy, and looked like it would work well for the box of oranges my dad sent for Christmas.
Well, Christmas morning we started juicing and were sorely disappointed in the little guy's performance. It wobbled on the counter top - the four squishy suction cups were insufficient support for the downward force required to squeeze the orange. Even with pressure on the back-side of the juicer, a cup placed for collection is in danger of toppling over with the machine. To add insult to injury, the squished orange half created a vacuum between the cone, the inside of the orange, and the top of the juicer. We had to haul upwards on the handle to get it to release - a difficult action the machine was not designed for. After about five oranges, it was stuck so tight that we gave up and let it sit the rest of Christmas Day.
Today, we took the juicer back to the store and ordered a Hamilton Beach juicer from Amazon... a model that has been in my father's house since my infancy.
I have never reviewed a product before, but I don't want anyone else to be suckered by this little sucker!

Summary: Not Really Worth the Hassle 2006-09-15
Comment: I have owned my Orange X juice press for four years. I took it to the thrift store this morning and am searching for a replacement. I purchased the juicer with the intent of squeezing lemons, limes and oranges for cooking purposes. It looks nice on my counter and I found it wasn't all that difficult to clean.
I have given up on it, however, due to the "tipping over" mentioned in previous reviews. I'm not one to give up...so I tried applying pressure to the back of the unit while pulling the lever, but there isn't really any place to hold on to. I tried lubricating the handle and that seemed to help for awhile but I got tired of dragging the thing out to the garage to spray it and fool around with it so I could squeeze a couple of limes for the guacamole. I can't imagine using it to press oranges in any quantity. I think it might work if you could figure out a way to bolt it to your counter?????
If the manufacturer fixes the balance issue, I will buy another one.
