I'd never heard of the brand before but at under $50 it seemed like a bargain. So I grabbed a bag of veggies and dashed back to give it a whirl. The mouth where you push the veggies through is a decent size but you will need to slice most veggies at least once before you can fit them in. No big deal, takes about 2 minutes to do the whole lot. The motor is really strong and had no trouble chewing through carrots and beets. It has a decent size pulp catcher that's quick and easy to take off when you need to empty it. I also like the fact that there is not a huge amount of space between the blade and the plastic thing that's used to push the veggies/fruit down, so small bits don't get stuck in the gap like some previous brands I've used. This review is from: Oster 3157 400-Watt Single-Speed Juice Extractor (Kitchen) although I'll give kudos on how much juice it produces this item is not worth your time or money. I hate to leave bad reviews but I'm pretty disappointed with this one. Considering this is my second juicer, my first one was less than $30 but the motor burned out, I had higher expectations since I paid a bit more since my last one. Underneath the filter basket is the motor base housing, the filter basket does not hold all the juice so it leaks into the motor base and into the motor. Also you can't remove this part so you have to deal with the smell of previous rotting juice each time you use. The juice spout also is pretty messy and shoots juice out like crazy and the cover/lid doesn't fit too snug either so more juice is ejected from there as well. I can deal with a bit of juice splashing out and cleaning it up, but not having to have my juices smell and taste like rotting fruit. |
